first_imgRory Devlin North Pole Cycling Club got second place and a Silver medal in the Northern Ireland Cycling Championships in Co.Down on Sunday.Peter Williams from Juiced Orchard won the 80 Mile race by half a wheel in a fleld of more than fifty riders.A good performance also by Ted McCaffrey,North Pole and from local cyclist Joe Barr from Newtowncunningham. Aidan Noone got 6th place in the under-16 race.Recently promoted to 1st Category Rory Devlin will start in next weeks An Post Ras as part of the Donegal-LK Bikes team with 4 other Donegal cyclists.Team manager Michael Black congratulated Rory on his performance which validated his place in the Ras Team, the first time for a Donegal entry in almost 20 years.Rory also performed well in Saturday’s Red Hand Trophy in Ballymena securing 6th place.
