‘Pomp and Circumstance’ season in SCV

first_imgSANTA CLARITA – A record number of seniors will be graduating in ceremonies running June 4-8 across the Santa Clarita Valley, Hart Union High School District officials said. The district currently lists 3,380 seniors this school year, compared with 3,060 seniors at the same time last year. Junior high eighth-grade promotion ceremonies are scheduled for June 6 and June 7. Many of the junior high schools schedule multiple graduations to accommodate large audiences of family members in smaller indoor venues. The school year officially ends June 7, and summer school will start June 18. Following is a list of scheduled graduations and promotions: June 4: Valencia High School, 7:30 p.m., College of the Canyons. June 5: Hart High, 7 p.m., College of the Canyons; Learning Post, 6:30 p.m., Hart auditorium. June 6: Canyon High, 7:30 p.m., College of the Canyons; Golden Oak Adult School, 7 p.m., Hart auditorium; Bowman High, 6 p.m., Bowman quad; Arroyo Seco Junior High, 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., College of the Canyons; La Mesa Junior High, 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., La Mesa gymnasium. June 7: Saugus High, 7 p.m., College of the Canyons; Golden Valley High, 7 p.m., Golden Valley amphitheater; Sequoia Charter School, 1 p.m., Santa Clarita Activities Center; Placerita Junior High, 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., College of the Canyons; Sierra Vista Junior High, 12:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m., College of the Canyons; Rio Norte Junior High, 5 p.m., Valencia High; Rancho Pico Junior High, 9:30 a.m., noon and 2:30 p.m., Rancho Pico multipurpose room.
